NASDPTS President Resigns to Take Maryland School District Position

transportation for Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville, Maryland. “At this time in my life it may seem like an unusual choice, but I consider it a wonderful and blessed opportunity to start anew and challenge myself to apply what I have learned from my time as a member of the NASDPTS leadership team, and especially my time as president, to the real world in one of the best pupil transportation operations in our nation,” Langley wrote in an July 12 letter to NAS-


DPTS members that announced his resignation. “I have much to learn from the great team of MCPS pupil transportation professionals.” Meanwhile, Langley’s new boss told STN that he is “thrilled” to welcome his new assistant director. “He brings a level of knowledge and experience from the national scene that few in this industry have,” said


Todd Watkins, Montgomery County’s director of transportation. “I am also very excited about his energy level and desire to produce and continually get better.” He explained that one of Langley’s respon- sibilities is providing more training for bus attendants. “We currently ask them to handle situations on the bus that have the benefit of masters level teachers and therapists in the school building,” Watkins said.
