A Different Vantage Point NY Illegal School Bus Passings Require Legislation, Association Says

http://stnonline.com/go/8s

“With stop-arm cameras, it is a non-existent problem to solve. Very few people illegally pass school buses and there are virtually no deaths. Most times the bus driver actually runs the students over. Still, they make a stop- arm extender to block the oncoming lane. Again, these will be technicali- ty-based tickets. Stopping too close to the bus, split-second violations, not knowing if you must stop in a certain case, not seeing a bus, etc. Pennsylva- nia has different laws than many other states, like stopping in any direction. You may be cited incorrectly for going the other way on a divided highway, if the reviewer messes up. You need not stop if going the opposite direction on a divided highway. Check out the National Motorists Association for unbiased info on this topic.” —LinuxGuy, comment at STNOnline.com
