Port of San Diego publishes Integrated Planning Framework Report
SAN DIEGO — The Port of San Diego has published the comprehensive Integrated Planning process to update its Port Master Plan for the approximately 6,000 acres of land and water within its jurisdiction. A Port Master Plan serves as a blue-
print for future development and is similar to what is known as a General Plan in a city or county. The Port’s Master Plan Update will facilitate a balanced approach to land and water planning. Integrated Planning Framework Report intended to provide guidance in the preparation of the Port Master Plan Update document. Port staff will use the completed report
to begin drafting the Port Master Plan, which will be followed by review pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act and the California Coastal Act. There will be additional opportunities for public input throughout the remainder of the
process. The Framework Report is the last step in the visioning phase of Integrated Planning. It has emerged from a compre- hensive process of analysis and investiga- tion–all informed by extensive public out- reach, including over 100 interviews with stakeholders and agencies, public work- shops and Board meetings.
