Fairtrade awards open for business T


he South West Fairtrade Business Awards are now open for applications to all businesses in the South West region. Now in their fifth year, the Awards


reward businesses that demonstrate commitment to using and promoting Fairtrade. They are free to enter and declare a fair and ethical business ethos for all businesses that meet the criteria, who are rewarded with an e-logo, certificate and seats at the Awards ceremony. Winners of each category receive a unique trophy designed by Bristol Blue Glass. Winning a Fairtrade Business Award identifies your business as fair and ethical and is a great motivator to staff and customers. Members shine at ceremony


Not one, but two Business West members have won at the national British Chambers of Commerce awards. Plimsoll Productions, an independent production company based in Bristol, won the High Growth Business of the Year award, whereas Castle School Education Trust (CSET) is celebrating after winning the Business and Education Partnership category. The judges were impressed by


the commitment, tenacity and focus that Plimsoll have demonstrated during the previous year, as they continue to expand their business in the US.

Speaking about the success of Business West members at the awards, Phil Smith, managing director, said: “Plimsoll and Castle School Trust are a shining example of the scope of business talent that we have in our region.
