ing continuing education (CE) credits. Registrants can choose to participate in National Advocacy Day events on either the afternoon of Wednesday, May 3, or the morning of Thursday, May 4. ASCA will provide trans- portation to and from the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Cen- ter and Capitol Hill. To prepare individuals for their con-
gressional meetings, ASCA staff will host National Advocacy Day briefings immediately preceding the Hill visits. This CE-eligible session will explain current ASC legislation and how to conduct a successful meeting and allow participants to ask questions. In addi- tion, an online training webinar will be available to all participants prior to their arrival in Washington, DC, on April 18. All National Advocacy Day par- ticipants will have the opportunity to receive CE credits for the ASCA 2017 educational sessions they miss using recordings of those sessions. There will be a limit to one session per time block. Registration for National Advocacy Day is available through ASCA 2017’s main registration page,
http://www.ascassociation.org/ asca2017/register. Visiting Capitol Hill communicates
the importance of the issues ASCs are facing, but it is not the only way ASCA members can educate their policymak- ers. Facility tours offer a first-hand look at how ASCs provide care and what an ASC patient experiences. In 2016, ASCA members hosted more than 65 tours for state and federal elected offi- cials. If an ASC is interested in hosting a tour, ASCA staff will help coordinate communication between the facility and congressional office. The future of the ASC industry relies on members of the ASC community engaging in advocacy opportunities. For more information on National Advocacy Day or facility tours, write Danielle Kaster at
