Burglar must repay £11,000

A CONVICTED burglar who tar- geted homes in Maidstone has been given weeks to pay back more than £11,000 to his victims. JohnWall was sentenced to three

years and four months in prison ear- lier this year, after a crime spree in Kent, Sussex and London. The 47-year-old, who stole items including cash, jewellery and com- puter tablets between October 2015 and February 2016, was arrested after being stopped by police in a car in Crayford. He admitted a charge of conspir-

acy to commit burglary covering six offences, including three in Maid- stone.

FollowingWall’s sentence, officers

at Kent Police investigated his lifestyle and found he had benefited from his criminal conduct to the tune of £16,674. At a Proceeds of Crime Act hear-

ing at Maidstone Crown Court on November 25,Wall was ordered to pay back assets of £11,549 within six weeks. The money will be paid back to

the victims or insurance companies that have incurred a loss. IfWall, formerly of Sidcup, fails to comply with the order he will have to serve another seven months in jail and still have to pay back the money.
