of both Mosimann’s and Guards, whereby many people will have dined at Mosimann’s and know what to expect, but we are also looking forward to being able to meet a new and different set of clients who have yet to experience the Mosimann philosophy. “In addition, it was important for

Mosimann’s move in to Smith’s Lawn

The Clubhouse at Guards Polo Club will become the place to be in 2017. Just as TenGoal was going to press the Club’s Chief Executive Neil Hobday announced that the private dining and hospitality experts Mosimann’s will be taking over the kitchens at Smith’s Lawn next season. “We have known Mosimann’s

for years and I have always been impressed by its gorgeous menus, impeccable service and professionalism,” said Neil, when confirming this exciting new partnership. “Mosimann’s London base in West Halkin Street is one of the most famous dining clubs in the world, but few people know that its outside catering business is a world leader from HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Lunch at Westminster Hall to The Olympics and from Formula One to the FIFA World Cup. So, we are indeed fortunate to have Mosimann’s as our

catering and hospitality partner.” Mosimann’s, which was founded

by chef Anton Mosimann OBE, DL, in 1988, is the perfect fit for Guards Polo Club as it has entertained royalty from over a dozen different countries, heads of state and a growing list of celebrities. In 2000, Mosimann’s received a Royal Warrant from HRH The Prince of Wales for catering and in 2011, the team had the honour of cooking the wedding dinner at Buckingham Palace for TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Smith’s Lawn project will be managed by Anton’s son Philipp, a joint Managing Director, with his brother Mark, of Mosimann’s. “We see Guard’s Polo Club as an exciting challenge to be able to offer the well-renowned Mosimann’s food offering in a new location,” said Philipp. “There is an exciting synergy between the membership

us to collaborate with a likeminded partner who shares our values in offering the highest level of service in a beautiful setting, and who are a leading and successful brand in their field.” So, what can members expect to see on a Clubhouse menu in 2017? “A delicious combination of local classics, international, and Mosimann signature dishes,” revealed Philipp. “I cannot say which of these will be featured as there are so many... but Risotto with Wild Mushrooms is probably our most well-loved and travelled signature dish.” Philipp Mosimann was also keen

to stress that, although the food may be upping its game, the team is very aware that the food is just one of the pleasures of being a member of Guards Polo Club – which prides itself on its ambience for members, their family and friends – and so the Clubhouse rules and regulations will stay pretty much untouched. “Children will be welcome – in fact we will be staying with all of the Club’s existing Clubhouse policies.” Guards Polo Club, and Mosimann’s will be revealing more about this new partnership in the Guards Yearbook 2017, hopefully with a sneak preview of a menu or two. In the meantime, everyone at Smith’s Lawn is waiting impatiently to welcoming Philipp and his Mosimann team to Smith’s Lawn next year. “The exact date is still be confirmed as to when we collect the keys to the kitchen but I do know it will be in the spring of 2017,” said Philipp.
