I am approaching 5 months service and feel really happy. Knowing that my contributions are welcomed and respected by the regulars.
Attendance has dropped massively in recent times at my squadron. Numbers on paper will be high, attendance is low. When volunteers are asked for tasking, they accept, hear nothing for 2 weeks - they cannot plan their already busy lives. Thereafter, do not apply again. Lack of consideration for reservists full time commitments to family and employer.
I love being part of the RAF, and I very much enjoy the time spent on the squadron and the people I serve with. I feel we have the capability to carry a skill set that would enable us to be used more flexibly.
