hull is done and they are now working on her interior and cabin house top, installing the deck hardware and building a mast. She will be launched this spring. On the East Sail 25 they are working on her interior and getting her ready for paint. The Rieff 28 daysailer hull is nearly

fi nished and they are working on her interior. In October, they received the okay to

modify the 8 metre OCTAVIA. She has been redesigned by Bruce Kirby and the al- terations will take place on the stern section of the hull. She will also receive a new keel, deck and deck layout. Brion is also building carbon fi ber

spars. He is building one for the Rieff 28 and the East Sail 25.

Richard Stanley Custom Boats in

Bass Harbor has a new boat under con- struction and a couple of smaller projects

underway. One of the interesting projects is on a

launch, which was built in Detroit in the early 1900s. She is powered with a one cylinder make and break engine. Richard is doing repair work to the skeg and bearings. The big project is the new 38 foot

wooden boat he is building for a Maine customer. She is being fi nished off as a sport fi sh boat. Her backbone is up and braced and Richard was working on her rudder post and shaft. The bearing came from R. E. Thomas of Hancock. The stern frame is done and waiting to be installed; the frames were being planned, and next they will put up the stations and ribbons. Richard says that he has designed the top and Scott Edgerly will start work on it soon and it should be done midwinter. He also said that he should have the boat framed up and start planking in early November.

Rolling and Tipping with Epifanes Delivers Exceptional Results.

Professional or amateur, once you’ve rolled and tipped a boat with Epifanes two-part Poly-urethane, it will be your go-to strategy for every paint job. The results are stunning, and Epifanes’ tech support is unsurpassed. Still great for spraying, but Epifanes roll-and-tip is the proven shortcut to a durable, mirror-like finish.
