get moving. Fortunately, Glasgow’s food

and drink sector is replete with options and you will still have the opportunity to grab a space at the city’s many hotels, bars and restaurants. During the festive period, as

throughout the year, there is food and drink to suit every taste and budget. Te city’s gastronomic scene is not only part of its unique culture but an essential economic driver, especially when the holiday season comes around. Richard Muir, Deputy Chief

Executive, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce said: “Tere’s one thing you can say about Glasgow

– it is full of options. Tere is something for everyone and it’s not necessarily about choosing the closest or easiest location. Te variety ranges from watching a big show to interactive entertainment where you might be involved in mixing your own cocktails to a straightforward sit down lunch, dinner or drinks.” Te food on offer – traditional

festive fare or otherwise – is oſten based on excellent local produce, including seafood and shellfish, game and beef, fruit and vegetables and award- winning cheeses. Similarly, there’s a great choice

of flavours and cuisines from across the world. In Glasgow, Christmas celebrations can come with a taste of Mexico, Asia, India, Italy, Spain, Portugal and

Africa, to name just a few. Tere are specialist gin and

whisky bars as well as craſt brewers offering the chance for you to enjoy the holiday season. Should you still be pondering

the planning of the company Christmas party, don’t worry, you won’t be alone. Pressures of business and other distractions see many firms making arrangements a few weeks before December gets truly under way. Te thing to bear in mind is

that this annual celebration is like every project – if you want it to run smoothly, organisation is vital. Richard added: “Tere are

more similarities than most people might think between a commercial event and a staff night out. Oſten, you are

dealing with diverse audiences with different needs, ages and expectations. However, the trick is to know that audience and make sure you are addressing their needs. Aſter all, your audience influences everything from the content to the venue and delivery of the evening.” Whether it’s your first time
