Traders move into new premises in Park Wood
THE final phase of a £50m regen- eration project has started at Park Wood. The redevelopment sees the demolition of the old parade of shops and flats inWallisAvenue. And as the buildings come
down, Angela Raper, owner of the Beauty Closet, said goodbye to her old premises across the road and hello to her new shop,where she is pictured. She added: “It will be sad to see
the old shop go as I had been there for more than 15 years and have many happy memories, but I ab- solutely love my new shop. “It is bright and airy and my cus- tomers can park directly outside. “I have exciting plans for my business and am looking forward to the future.” The new shops are in a pedestri-

Ben Finch, contracts manager for Rydon, said: “It is always exciting to start work on a new project, but this development is particularly important as it represents the final piece in the jigsaw for the Wallis Fields’ regeneration scheme into high quality new homes, shops and community facilities.

we’re looking forward to working closely with Golding Homes to deliver this scheme and help shape better living for local peo- ple.” The redevelopment has seen a number of different bodies, in- cluding Maidstone Borough Council, working together on the project to a successful comple- tion.
