A collective of peers – an eco-system for game changers

Following the resounding success of its first 50 Game Changers, ConnectTVT is launching its ConnectTVT Collective, writes Louize Clarke

We want to champion the change in mindset kick-started by the launch of the 50 Game Changers by leveraging shared social capital. Our aim is simple: to raise the Thames Valley’s profile as a tech and digital cluster at a national level. We are really heartened by the commitment from SEGRO in Slough via The Bakery London’s recent launch and the arrival of SETSquared led by Basingstoke Council and Enterprise M3 in Basingstoke that the Thames Valley can compete on the global stage.

Building our collective is about the long-term. Research from the 50 Game Changers showed that the next generation of innovative tech and digital companies, from grassroots to scale-up need the support of a strong eco- system to thrive. The Collective will lead that.

What the ConnectTVT Collective looks like

50 Game Changers was always more than a PR campaign. We want to create lasting change. Feedback showed a clear desire to be part of this movement of change. So what will the Collective deliver? We’re currently midway through an exploratory phase with our Game Changers who have all fed back that content, a vibrant events programme, themed masterminds and mentoring will help their business.

What’s evident is that value comes through having that strong community of like-minded peers. Sparks are already flying following our launch and we know Game Changers have collaborated and explored working relationships and opportunities. This is where the magic will unfold.

Ambition, leadership, innovation and talent were all singled out as the key qualities of a Game Changer. Bringing businesses that have these in abundance, together on a regular basis is where the potential for our Collective lies. We’ll be launching a series of themed Changer Congresses, dates to be announced in September to kick-start this.

The Thames Valley is home to some incredible, locally-grown global brands. Now’s the time to celebrate that. The Collective will look at how we continue to build on this and bring it to the forefront of the national agenda – and beyond.

Our rich events programme, from National Coding Week through to Festival of Digital Disruption (FODD) all offer partners the opportunity to get involved with initiatives running at a national level and embed themselves further in the community.

Collaboration, collaboration, collaboration

This vision can’t be delivered alone. We’re so excited to have the support of amazing partners like Rawnet, the multi- award digital agency in Ascot, which share our vision and want to make great things happen right here in the Thames Valley. Austin Fraser, OpsView and Datto are other significant partners which believe in streamlining ideas and resources to drive change.

Our aim is to build a culture where collaboration is the norm, not an anomaly. Pool great thinking so we can harness the best talent out there, give our businesses access to world-class talent, make it that much easier for the digital and tech community to do business out here. That will help shift perception of our brand and attract the investment we need to make the Thames Valley the best place to start and scale your business.
