Neilson Chalet La Vieille Maison, Val d’Isère

Once an old farm cottage, the Vieille Maison has been lovingly converted, keeping many original features. Walk in and you’re greeted by huge, well-seasoned wooden beams that span the ceiling and rise up from the floor, through the dining table - certainly a good talking point.

It’s quite a basic chalet, but the sheer character and large wood burner in the lounge/diner make up for that. Also, the location is a real bonus as you’re right opposite the Funival funicular railway in the La Daille area of the resort. This takes you right in to the heart of the 300km Espace Killy ski area.

For shorter holidays over New Year 2016/17, you still have one night free to explore the resort and local cuisine.

The rooms All five bedrooms have many original features with plenty of character. Most rooms share facilities except the two-floor premium room that has two sleeping areas, each with its own ensuite. The top floor of the premium room is in the eaves and has a sloping ceiling.
