Education: the changing landscape

The first half of 2016 has seen sweeping changes in the structure of some of the lead- ing suppliers of education technology. AV News reports on the options.

Medium completes video wall offering

Medium has announced that they will exclusively distribute the G4K fan-less creative vid- eo wall controllers from Seada Technology. The signing by Me- dium is the most recent in a number of exclusive distribution contracts signed by the compa- ny, in order to offer their custom- ers only the best-of-breed prod- ucts in all AV categories. Roy Martin, Connectivity Busi- ness Manager at Medium, com- mented: “Rather than take on conflicting products and offer an extensive range of similarly specced products, we hand pick the best products from our ven- dors. By doing the pre product analysis, our channel partners and their customers are sure

that they are getting the best. That is why we chose Seada." The move by Medium sees

them offer solutions to their cus- tomers that reflect the budget and technical requirements for various applications, without sac- rificing quality and performance. Seada sales director commented: "Medium offers the kind of atten- tion and growth as a distributor that we want. Our G4K fan-less creative video wall controllers complement the existing range from Medium in a way that en- sures they are fit for purpose. The product knowledge from the Medium sales team will no doubt create some very happy custom- ers for them, and advocates for us!"

Christie appoints Stampede Europe

After years of success taking the Christie brand, products and services to the North American market, Christie has appointed Stampede Europe to serve as a distribution partner for its Busi- ness Products, LED and Video Wall Solutions. According to Stampede CEO Mark Wilkins, both parties are confident that their successful North American collaboration en- sures continued success with the UK as a new base and market. “For years, Stampede has served as Christie’s largest value-added distributor in the United States, Canadian, and Latin American markets, helping to establish the company as a pioneer in the dis- play and projector industry,” stated Wilkins. “Christie offers an unprec- edented combination of consistent product and high-quality service, allowing us to offer our resellers the right product targeted to the

right application, and be complete- ly confident of support. And now, with the opening of Stampede Europe and the acquisition of UK- based Just Lamps, we have the sales and marketing infrastructure in place to extend a very successful distribution partnership to the UK and beyond.”

“Christie has a long and success- ful relationship with Stampede in North America so it was natural to continue that with their expansion into the UK market. We found that Stampede NA has a fresh, dynam- ic marketing dimension and have been a proven force in marketing terms to deliver our products and services to a wider audience,” said Dale Miller, Executive VP, Global Sales, for Christie. “We’re confi- dent that Stampede will be able to leverage from their NA experience to help drive forward in developing the market place in new territories”
