Football club Representatives of Barming Youth Football Club discussed their need for a permanent home venue for the club. The chairman said that, when this issue was discussed a number of years ago, the parish council had supported the idea of moving the parish field boundary for a new community centre, but unfortunately at the time, the adjacent landownerwas not interested in selling. Itwas suggested that the club approach Maidstone Borough Council’s planning department and the landowners. The parish council congratulated the club on its recent cup win.
Football kickwall Due to the concerns over cladding at the pavilion, Sy Caell from Barming Youth Club had been researching kickwalls and reported that any plans would need to be a joint venture between the parish council and youth club to receive appropriate funding. All correspondence would need to come from the parish council who would also be responsible for future maintenance. Sy showed members the plans from Play Innovation which included a wire fence running parallel to the pavilion. Members voiced concerns about the fence and would want it to be plain to prevent footballs being kicked towards the building. Sy agreed to obtain a further two quotes. Annual parish meeting Memberswere really pleased with the amount of people who aended and thanked them all. Pavilion Itwas agreed that the plumber would purchase and install a new infra-red water heater with automatic shut-off after 40 seconds, costing £100. Five tables would be purchased. Parish hall Nigel Gibson had completed his first visit to the parish hall to clear the area of leaves and to sprayweeds. The

clerk had received a request from one of the hirers for members to consider having flowers at the front of the hall to make it look more inviting. Nigel Gibson supplied a quote to clear and shingle the border at the front. Cllr Sandra Manser did not think this needed to be done. Itwas agreed not to have shingle or flowers. The chairman wished her dissention to be recorded. North Street Cllr Manserwanted her disappointment noted as the contractors had all winter to cut back the hedges in North Street but had completed the work in the nesting season. This work should have been scheduled before the end of March. The clerk would contact Taylor Wimpey regarding this. Energy The EDF direct debit for the parish hall electricity would be increasing to £73 a month. Chairs Barry Plummer had offered a number of chairs from the village hall free of charge, but due to the recent donation of chairs, the parish council did not need any at present.

Chairman Cllr Vianne Gibbons was re- elected as chairman for the forthcoming year andwas thanked for all her dedication to the role for many years. Cllr Charlie Hollisterwas re-elected as vice-chairman. Crime report Criminal damagewas reported at the garage at Linton crossroads. Therewas illegal parking outside the Swan public house in north Loose, also nuisance vehicles and evidence of drugs in Pheasant Lane.
SouthernWater The clerk would find out why there were no longer any responses from emails sent to SouthernWater. Allowances Members did not wish to receive allowances as parish councillors. Out of pocket expenses would continue to be reimbursed to cover travel and other items such as stationery. This did not include the chairman’s allowance, which is agreed during the seing of the budgets by the finance commiee. Pram race This event due to be held at Brooks Field InAugust had been cancelled. Asbestos Regarding the removal of
asbestos from the shed on Brooks Field, the resident bordering the field wished to have a site meeting with the parish council to discuss the options further. Some concerns were raised in view of the sidewall being asbestos and the vegetation.A meeting would be arranged with the resident. Cemetery Two councillors would carry out awalkabout in the cemetery to check the state of the memorial stones. Boulder Clancy Docra had removed the bolder adjacent to the allotments but debris falling following the exercise had caused some further concern. After a further survey, it appeared that the vegetation needed to re-establish itself which would help the erosion of the surface. The situation would be monitored.
Tovil
PaperworkA full survey of paperwork would be carried out and costs/options for digital storage would be sought and brought to council. Temporary storage for essential paperwork had been offered by CllrWilby. Repairs An estimate for materials of £816.86 for repairs to the car park boundary raised flowerbed was agreed. Tuck shop A donation of £50 towards the YMCA youth club tuck shop was agreed. CardA pre-payment card with a limit of £250 was agreed. Keys An additional set of keys for Tovil Community Centre for the vice-chairman would be obtained. Flooding The flood wardens had been put forward for the relevant training and it was hoped to form a future collaboration with east Farleigh parish Council with flood maers. Newsleers Flyers advertising the parish council’s future newsleers had been received and were ready for distribution. The admin team would email councillors to form a delivery plan. Tables Valley Conservation Society indicated it was happy to take ownership of the parish council’s tables which are currently in storage. Cllr Alan Smith was invited to collect them from the parish office on the society’s behalf.
