Reading-based Blandy & Blandy LLP has appointed solicitor Emily Farrow to its residential property team. She trained and qualified at a firm in Middlesex, and advises on all aspects of residential property transactions. B2B sales generation agency Xcel Sales has appointed John Cormack as head of new business. Cormack has experience in developing sales and marketing strategies spanning a career in financial services. Earlier he had 10 years in the British Army. Nicola Hartland, CEO at Xcel Sales, said: “This is a key appointment. We expect to achieve a turnover in excess of £1 million by the end of our fourth year in June 2017.” Xcel Sales, founded by Hartland in 2013, works with companies across the UK developing sales strategies and implementing lead generating techniques to
dramatically increase revenue. The company will be moving to Chineham Park, near Basingstoke, in July.
In the latest round of promotions at Reading-based Boyes Turner LLP, Sarah Williamson has been promoted to partner in the commercial and technology team. She joined Boyes Turner in 2005 and advises on a range of commercial and technology issues especially for businesses in the digital media sector. She has particular experience advising on the licensing of data and digital content, cloud-based services, marketing and advertising, digital commerce and the cross-border commercialisation and protection of products. Clients she regularly works with include Guardian Media Group and Auto Trader. The Thames Valley branch of Women in Property (WiP) has appointed Sabrina Furneaux- Gotch of Penningtons Manches LLP as its new branch chairman. She has been a member of WiP for three years and is an Oxford-based litigation lawyer specialising in property disputes. A member of the Property Litigation Association, she advises on a wide range of claims relating to property for both commercial and private clients. She is recognised as an “associate to watch” in Chambers UK.

RSM tax partner Nick Parker, who works at the firm’s offices in Basingstoke and Southampton, has been elected deputy president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for 2016-17. He has served as an elected council member since 1995. During those 21 years he has been a member of the ICAEW board; chaired its council for three years; chaired its members’ board while it established a members group in Scotland; and chaired its audit committee before he was elected an office holder. He is currently a member of the board and the audit committee, and he chairs the diversity advisory group.
