NatWest acknowledges success of local businesses

The Dynamic Business Award is awarded to the local business that has demonstrated a clear vision for the development of its staff, systems, products or services throughout the year

The award, which is judged by three independent members of the local business community, recognises not only commercial success, but also factors such as how the management’s vision has been achieved through its people; the development of new products; merger and acquisition strategies and/or capitalisation of new funding; and the development of technological or commercial opportunities.

JUDGES' QUOTES Ian Smith, group president

“During my professional career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, there was no doubt that the success of our clients was founded on the excellence of their management teams. As president of the Chamber, I meet many businesses in the region and hear examples of the strategic decisions made by management teams that drive businesses forward. I was therefore very pleased to be invited to judge this award and look forward to seeing the entries”.

“Sophos continues to go from strength to strength. The Group has over 30 years of experience in enterprise security and has built a portfolio of products that protects over 220,000 organisations and over 100 million end users in 150 countries across a variety of industries. We are a leading global provider of cloud-enabled end user and network security solutions, offering organisations end-to-end protection against known and unknown IT security threats through products that are easy to install, configure, update and maintain. We are proud to be one of the UK’s largest technology companies and successfully listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2015.

Nick Bray, CFO

“This is the third year that I have been invited to join the judging panel for this prestigious award. I have been amazed and delighted at the quality of the submissions in the previous two years and am hugely encouraged at the levels of entrepreneurship being demonstrated by our local management teams.“

“As former winners, I am personally delighted to represent Sophos on this year's judging panel. As a business we know how satisfying it is to win these kinds of awards and it's great to once again be part of the process of finding a deserving winner this year.“

The award also looks at how the company has differentiated itself in its market, how it stands out from the crowd, and how it is able to move quickly in the pursuit of profitable growth.

Previous winners of this award have included Accumuli Security, Xtrac, PRISYM ID, Wireless Logic, Ella’s Kitchen, Baxter Storey and Cennox.

“NatWest is delighted to be the new sponsor of this year’s Dynamic Business Award.

“Having been NatWest’s regional director for over nine years, as well as being a director of the Berkshire / Thames Valley LEP, I know that our local economy continues to earn plaudits as one of the most vibrant and successful in the UK.

“We are therefore particularly proud to be sponsoring an award that will give proper recognition to the companies, entrepreneurs and management teams that are playing such a vital role in that success and which will have such an integral part to play in our continued economic prosperity.”

Robin Barnes, Regional Director, NatWest
