Celebrating Southampton growth


Southampton is being transformed into a vibrant UK city – and the growth will be celebrated in next month’s issue of The Business Magazine.


The city’s position as a vibrant centre was acknowledged when it was ranked the fourth highest ranking city in England for good growth (source: PwC).


The 240,000-population city is breaking free from a past shackled by a decline in manufacturing and the traditional docks. It is now:


• the cruise capital of northern Europe, and


• the UK’s leading port for the automotive trade.


It boasts:


• Lloyd’s Register’s new purpose- built facility on the University of Southampton campus – home to 400 team members


• the new wireless and digital development hub at Southampton Science Park


• and the next phase of the Science Park which is now underway


• marine-sector opportunities at Centenary Quay, Woolston


• the new dining and leisure


centre at Westquay Watermark, and


• plans for a ‘world-class’ waterfront at Royal Pier.


To mark Southampton’s transformation, and promote the virtues of being in business here, The Business Magazine plans to run a special section next month – July/August issue.


This will be read by thousands of company directors, business owners, professionals and support agencies across the region.


This special edition will be available in print, in digital format,


promoted by newsletter and social media, and made available as source material for websites.
