As the UK’s leading developer of age restricted retirement apartments we have a constant and ongoing demand for new land opportunities. In our last financial year McCarthy & Stone acquired 90 new sites, a Company record, and this year we wish to exceed this number as a group. Our Southern Regional target is to acquire a total of 16 new sites and we are already on our way to achieving this goal.


Recent acquisitions have included land purchased from (and in conjunction with) national house builders, previously used industrial land, car dealerships, former care homes and land assemblies.

housing stock makes our developments popular with planning authorities, councillors and other key decision makers. We are proud of our track record in securing timely planning consents, and this is set to improve even further as the government brings forward planning policies that respond positively and pro-actively to the housing implications of our ageing population.
