Following a consultation exercise reported in the December issue of the Village Voice, the Parish Council has submitted a planning application to New Forest District Council for a Multi‐Use Game Area at Carrington Lane Recreation Ground. The proposed MUGA will be situated approximately where the current “football pitch” is and will be 25 x 15 metres. It will have a tarmac surface with line marking for 5‐aside football and basketball and will be surrounded by a green metal unobtrusive fence. It is being funded from Developers’ Contributions. The public will have a chance to comment on the proposals as part of the planning process. Keep an eye on the noticeboards and Parish Council website www.milfordonsea.org.uk for details of when the application will come before the next planning committee. Alternatively view and comment on the plans at the District Council’s website: www.newforest.gov.uk.

a good state of repair. The Parish Council has been aided and abetted in this project by the robust volunteers of the Milford Conservation Volunteers (MCV) and the area is much improved. The work is now coming to an end for this season, but more is planned for the future.

In addition, a number of trees in the Pleasure Grounds have been felled as part of the ten year Management Programme for the area. The MCV has been instrumental in this work and they are hoping to sell some of the felled wood back to the community (see p.59), with the aim of reinvesting the money into tools and materials to help them continue in their improvement works around the village. For more details contact the Parish Office.

The NFDC Car Park adjacent to the public toilets and White House on Hurst Road will be closed for much of the summer. This is because the contractors rebuilding the Beach Huts will need it for their equipment. The remainder of the seafront car parks will be unaffected.

On Saturday 5th March, intrepid groups of volunteers gave up two hours of their busy schedules to litter pick around Milford and Keyhaven. They did a sterling job and the Parish Council would like to thank and congratulate them on their considerable efforts.
