Thousands of new small businesses start each year. Many fail, but just as many succeed. Tom Jenkins, director of Dynamics Consultants, which specialises in the implementation of business software solutions, looks at one potential factor that could make all the difference
According to national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain, 608,110 businesses were registered in the UK with Companies House in 2015. That’s more than one company a minute. For every one that became a success, inevitably there would have been some that failed. So what was the secret to their success?
Unfortunately, there’s not one catch-all answer to that question. There are many factors that contribute to why a business is successful; tried and tested formulas (eg trades), innovation within their industry, creating a great product or service, but more often than not you can track everything back to one thing; people.
Power to the people
Having the right people in your business can be the difference between a thriving business and one that’s struggling. You can’t underestimate the powerful combination of reliable people 'on the ground' with strong people to lead them. Highlighting this gives you the ability to differentiate your business from competitors who are offering similar products or services.
