A2PBEER Affordable and adaptable public buildings through energy efficient retrofitting

A2PBEER is a four year research project partially financed by the Europeon Union 7th Framework Programme and seeks to develop a cost effective, “energy efficient retrofitting” methodology for public buildings, drawing on the expertise of over 2o partners from 11 European countries.

ADAPTIWALL Development of a multi-functional light-weight wall panel based on adaptive insulation and nanomaterials for energy efficient buildings

ADAPTIWALL aims to tackle the challenge described in the background by developing a climate adaptive multi-functional lightweight prefab panel suitable for cost-efficient, rapid and energy efficient retrofitting of facades (this project) and eventually also suitable for roofing, inner walls or entirely new buildings.

AMBASSADOR Flexible buildings to make eco-friendly districts

The purpose of the AMBASSADOR project is to study, develop and experiment systems and tools that will aim at optimising the energy usage in the perimeter of a district by managing the energy flows, predicting and mastering energy consumption and energy production.

BESOS Building energy decision support systems for smart cities

BESOS proposes the development of an advanced, integrated, management system which enables energy efficiency in smart cities from a holistic perspective. To that end, the Energy Management Systems deployed in a typical district that are consuming or producing energy, and which nowadays normally count with an isolated IT management solution, will be able to share data and services through and open trustworthy platform among themselves and to external third party applications. This enables the design and development of higher level applications –i.e. the Business Balanced score Card and DSS Cockpit – that are able to process real-time data and generate valuable analysis to affect the business and Monitoring and Control (M&C) strategies that operate a smart city – or a subset of the energy services deployed.

BRICKER Total renovation strategies for energy reduction in public building stock

BRICKER aims to develop a retrofitting solution package for existing public- owned non-residential buildings in order to achieve a drastic reduction of the energy consumption (beyond 50%) and GHG emissions in this sector.

BRIMEE Cost-effective and sustainable Bio- Renewable Indoor Materials with high potential for customisation and creative design

The main objective of BRIMEE project is the development of better performing insulation materials for improving building energy performances and having a significant reduction of building operational energy, in combination with the capability not to emit harmful substances and to act as an absorber for indoor pollutants.

CITyFiED Future innovative and replicable efficient districts and cities

The CITyFiED project aims to develop a replicable, systemic and integrated strategy to adapt European cities and urban ecosystems into the smart city of the future, focusing on reducing the energy demand and GHG emissions and increasing the use of renewable energy sources by developing and implementing innovative technologies and methodologies for building renovation, smart grid and district heating networks and their interfaces with ICTs and Mobility.
