An original copy containing Dispatches from Vice Admiral Collingwood featuring a detailed account of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Nelson transmitted by the Admiralty. There are also lists of killed and wounded and an account of Nelson's last moments. Together with an original copy of 'The Daily News, London, Wednesday, January 21, 1846' being the fi rst edition to be edited by Charles Dickens and featuring an article by him entitled 'Travelling Letters'. Both items 'double glazed' (!) and framed.

Illustrated with three tipped-in color plates, numerous illustrations and 47 monochrome photographic reproductions by Alinari, Brogli, Bulloz, Calavas, Fachetti, Giraudon, Bernand, Brassai, Robert Doisneau, Guy le Boyer, Schaall, Seeberger, Lipnitzki and Ostier. This is the offi cial catalogue of the London exhibition of ''Le ThÈatre de la Mode'' (Theatre of Fashion), featuring an Introductory text by Lucien Lelong, and text contributions by Louis ChÈronnet and GÈrard Bauer. Le ThÈatre de la Mode was a 1945-1946 touring exhibition of fashion mannequins, approximately one third the size of human scale.
