They also work as fine cabinetmakers, spoon carvers, expert turners, public artists, preservation carpenters and construction supervisors. See theirwork and talk about their artistry, their experiences in the field, and their roles as teachers, handing down skills to both adults and children.Women have been an important presence throughout the school’s 340-year history.

The filmdocuments,Bergen,Norway- based SaundersArchitecture, Fogo Island project in which Saunders skillfully designs buildings that pay homage to the traditionalwhite timber houses that dot theNorwegian fjords in the body ultra-modern architecture. The final result achieves a dramatic balance of new(strange) and familiar.
