Buddhist Text, nd. C.1900. Original book with polished wooden covers housing a Buddhist text elegantly inscribed in Pali on 16 matching palm leaved 'pages'. The 'book' is secured by a cord running through a central hole in the boards and pages which can wrapped around the covers when not in use. Provenance is indicated by an inscription: 'Sri Dalada Maligawa' - The Temple of the Sacred Tooth, in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
