Hello, and I hope this article finds all of you doing well. It’s hard to believe we are winding down on 2015. Seems like just a couple of weeks ago we were in Destin enjoying another successful convention. Now with Thanksgiving upon us and Christmas right around the corner, 2016 will be here before we know it.
With the end of the year closing in and membership invoices in the mail, it is a good time to reflect on this past year and what our association means to each of us. As I have stated many times in newsletter articles and speeches, the association is only as good as its membership. It is like anything else you will only get out of it what you put into it. There are lots of areas and plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved. From the Safety and Maintenance Councils, Roadside Inspections, annual safety breaks in July, to the Board of Directors; there are plenty of opportunities. The main thing is to get involved and stay involved. Our association does a lot for our industry which in turn directly effects each of us and our families.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I would like to take this time to thank Dave, Carol, Catherine and Edmond for the outstanding job they do guiding our great association. I know they will be the first to say they can’t do their jobs without an active and engaged membership. So I also thank each of you our TTA members both allied and carrier for your involvement and your support to help make this association one of the best in the country.
One last thing before I go, with Christmas around the corner what a better way to help our association and the foundation than to consider purchasing Papa Doug books as gifts for the small children in your lives or to make available for your employees to provide for their family and friends. As you know the foundation is the vehicle that provides funding for our Road Team, all the scholarship programs and our education programs for teen drivers.
In closing I would like to wish all of you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May God bless you all, your families and your companies.
