Foothills Sentry Girls volleyball wrapped up


league play last Wednesday with CIF playoffs to begin with wild card games on Saturday, Nov. 10. As of last week, it was a log- jam with Canyon, Foothill, and Villa Park all tied at 2-1. Century League finalists will sure to have been settled by the last game of the season. CIF Divisional Finals will be played on Nov. 20 and 21. Boys water polo will play a


wild card game on Saturday, Nov. 7, with first round games on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Foot- hill looks to capture the Century League title and defend its CIF title. Villa Park is ranked 8th in Division 2 and should qualify for the playoffs.

Girls volleyball and boys water polo playoffs set for next week


Jim Brumm, Foothill’s head water polo coach since 1987, reached a milestone, winning his 500th prep victory. The victory came against Coronado High School of San Diego in the S & R Sport Tournament.

Chas Homecker (9) from Foothill was over powered by Villa Park’s defense, as Gavin Jones stopped an attack in a Century League match last week. Foothill remained in first place in league, and ranked second in Division 2.

Canyon High School crowned Kimberly Thai as 2015 Home- coming Queen, and Vinit Parekh Home- coming King during halftime of the Yorba Linda football game. Canyon won the game, 39-24. The court (from left) includes Rebekah King, Vicky Evans Parekh, Queen Kimberly Thai, Valeria Morales and Ahnna Chu.
