Participating in the Gladiator games
brings the Carp Connections brand right in the picture, and therefore in the magazines, every year. At the Bolsena event we introduced a brand new marketing tool, our full colour printed shirts, like the American Bass Pros, produced by Valley Fashions USA. In the meantime, American TV star
Larysa Switlyk joined our team; having her catching Italian carp, drew the attention of all the local media to our Team. Then ‘unleashing’ Larysa to fish at one of our lakes, finally helped us getting both Carp Connections and its flagship Fishing Resort Du Der on the American network, seen by millions of households for several shows. Not only that, members of our team wrote several six and eight page articles, we even managed to get Ferry Verhofstad’s article in a Japanese carp magazine! Big in Japan! So how can we top last year’s huge
success? Well, I decided to enter two teams
instead of one team in the competition, in total no less than six trios. Carp Connections 2 is also represented by a beautiful Dutch lady and one hell of an angler, Liza van Zomeren. The Gladiator games will include some new funny games this year, so camera attention is guaranteed! Lucky for us the two times World Carp Classic Qualifier winners and big lake anglers Richard van Leeuwen, Sander van Triet and Cornée Zwijnenburg,
all said ‘yes’ to my request to join us again this year. Richard is also the all time record holder at the Fishing Resort Du Der with a carp of 67 lbs. We decided to keep the full coloured
Jerseys, and Larysa has redesigned them for this year’s event and turned them into real eye catchers. Also new for this year, to make sure we won‘t be short on food during opening weekend, we have catering on site, sponsored by PAVE Fishing team. Then, last but not least, we have our bait sponsors, AVK and MYproducts, bringing along a huge stock of carp food. What’s new? The three sponsors: Ronny van Berlo, Martin Hertogs and Yoann Cloarc are great big fish anglers and they will also fish as members of our teams. Of course, those who could find the time have fished Madine already, with some stunning 20Kg fish being registered, and more important some great information on the condition of the lake and its carp was collected. I would like to use this article and
magazine to wish all anglers good fishing, good luck, and may the best team win! Team Carp Connections is ready to
deliver some prize winners and for me, ‘Business is on the bank’!
