Santa Rosa, CA. ~ More than 100 Sonoma County senior art- ists will exhibit work at the 18th Annual Sonoma County Se- nior Art Show, Tues., Sept. 15– Thurs., Nov. 12, Mon.–Fri., 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Sat., 9–11 a.m., at The Finley Center, 2060 W. College Ave., Santa Rosa. The free, public, Cookies and Coffee kickoff reception is Thurs., Sept. 17 from 1-4 p.m., with many art- ists demonstrating work in vari- ous media. This year’s featured artist is watercolorist Bob Muniz

Rohnert Park. Muniz began painting 14 years ago at age 58 and has won several top awards at the Sonoma County Fair. The free annual exhibit cel- ebrates local artists age 60 and older, some who have honed their skills for many years and some newer artists. The show includes work in a variety of me- dia, including oils, glasswork, charcoal portraits, photography, clay, sculpture and woodwork-

ing. The artwork is selected for the show by Sonoma County art teachers working with seniors. The art show is hosted by the So- noma County Human Services Department Adult and Aging Division and the Area Agency on Aging, with support and co- operation from the City of Santa Rosa. “The annual Senior Art Show is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the positive and rich contributions that older adults make every day to our commu- nity,” said Diane Kaljian, Direc- tor, Adult and Aging Division. The Adult and Aging Division offers protective and support- ive social services for seniors and dependent adults, as well as community and training coordi- nation to help older adults live independently, with dignity and a positive quality of life.
