4 Maidstone Borough Council Week Street Fire

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was quick to get to the fire in Week Street, Maidstone in June. Crews that had been putting out vehicle fires in other parts of the town and filling tenders at the mill pond in Palace Avenue made it to Week Street in double quick time.

Maidstone Borough Council, the emergency services and Maidstone Town Centre Management did not waste any time planning to re-open Week Street. As soon as the fire crews left the site Maidstone Borough Council made sure that the worst fire damaged buildings were safe, employing contractors to put scaffolding and hoardings around the buildings. The council took on the work on behalf of the owners to make sure it was done quickly and Week Street was fully open for business with a minimum of delay.
