s you exit the Marten’s home in Calgary and step into the opulent back yard, the breath catches in your throat.
Half of the back deck is shaded by a pergola while the
other half has been converted into a gazebo. It’s a luxu- rious spot to spend an afternoon; furnished with a love- seat and elegant conversation set and white curtains. The wall facing the garden has a railing but is otherwise open, allowing you to enjoy the view. Gray-toned wood floors and cedar shake siding add to the romantic feel. Green potato vine and red geraniums spill out of a planter under the open rail. The most mesmerizing thing is the view. Grapes climb
Massive hens and chicks overflow the planter while round boulders add an interesting look.
