A WORTHY EFFORT — Members of the PEF Veterans Committee present a check to Paul and Kathy Gasiewicz for maintaining the Western New York Iraq-Afghanistan Memorial. Sgt. Cari Anne Gasiewicz, their daughter, is one of 64 people who were lost as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Paul Gasiewicz is a retired PEF member from Division 219. A PROM TO REMEMBER — Mandy Dugan, PEF member Linda Baker, Susan Cotsonas and Beth St. Clair-Bedell pose for a photo at the Fourth Annual Special Needs Prom held at Kinderhook Elks, Lodge 2530 in May. Baker organized the event with support from lodge members and the community to provide a special night for prom attendees, ranging in age from 16 to 60. Baker is a health program administrator at the state Department of Health who has volunteered in many programs that enhance the lives of individuals in her community.
