Women in Business 2015 is launched

Women in Business is launched this month – with the website now open for nominations and a special guest speaker confirmed

Women in Business categories

• Woman of the Year (Large Business) • Woman of the Year (SME – below £15m turnover) • Rising Star (aged 30 and under) • Enlightened Employer

The Enlightened Employer category is new this year. Judges are specifically seeking nominations from businesses that have shown a proactive, forward thinking and creative approach to enabling women to realise their full potential in the workplace.

Liz Jackson MBE (pictured), an inspirational speaker and top entrepreneur, is the special guest at the Women in Business Awards dinner, which takes place at Oakley Hall, near Basingstoke, on September 10.

Sponsors have also been confirmed for this year‘s WiB, which is organised and presented by The Business Magazine.

Barclays, Deloitte and law firm Blake Morgan have renewed their support of the awards for another year – and for 2015 they are joined by Clarify, whose founder and CEO Claire Edmunds was the winner of an award at last year‘s event.

Nominations will close on June 30. Judges will then meet to interview candidates and draw up shortlists in each category.

The awards night will be one of the highlights of the business calendar in the south. The high-profile dinner will be attended by many of the top businesswomen from throughout the region.

Special guest speaker Liz Jackson is managing director of Great Guns Marketing, a B2B sales and marketing agency, which she launched in 1998, the year she lost her eyesight.

The company continues to boast an impressive portfolio of clients and Jackson has proved inspirational to many business leaders. She was featured in Channel 4‘s Secret Millionaire series, and in 2007 was honoured by the Queen, awarded an MBE for services to business.

THE BUSINESS MAGAZINE – SOLENT & SOUTH CENTRAL – JUNE 2015
