And Woffinden admits he is at a

loss to explain why Prague has proved to be such a happy hunting ground.

He said: “I don't know what’s happening. I’ve ridden different engines in each of the last three years I’ve been here. “There was such a

big British fan base here tonight. Every year it has grown more and more. That’s great for me. I don't just do speedway for myself; I do it for the people I work with, my

sponsors, my family, my friends and the fans.

“When I get on my bike, it’s not just for me. It’s for everybody and I want to put on a show for everyone watching.”

THE Czech Republic FIM Speedway Grand Prix will stay in Prague for the next three years after Autoklub Marketa signed a new deal to host the event until 2018. The Prague showpiece has been

part of the SGP calendar every season since 1997 – making the Marketa Stadium the longest-serving venue in the competition’s 21-year history. Next season sees Marketa

stage its 20th Czech SGP and Paul Bellamy (left), managing director of SGP rights holder BSI Speedway, is delighted to extend the series’ ties with the city.

He said: “It has been fantastic to

see the Czech SGP grow into such a popular event during the past two decades, and the Marketa Stadium has grown and developed with it

into a fantastic speedway venue. “Having the beautiful and lively

city of Prague just minutes away is a huge plus, as fans travel from all over the world to enjoy, not just a great night of racing, but a brilliant all-round weekend break. “Autoklub Marketa have always

been very professional to work with and we look forward to continuing that co-operation in the years to come.”
