IF HARD work is a prerequisite of lasting

success, then Kyle Bickley is already on the right track.

He usually finishes school after

three, goes home to change and then makes the short 500-yard walk to the workshop at his granddad’s house. There he’ll spend the rest of the night washing down his bikes,

cleaning out the carb and generally making sure it’s ready prepped for his next races.

There are visits to the local gym, a carefully controlled diet

and everything else that a true professional does to keep on top of his game.

It’s become a familiar routine, a customary pattern of life.

All that’s different is Kyle’s birth certificate which shows he’s still only 13 and has his whole life ahead of him.

He’s already joined that slim pantheon of British riders who have been crowned individual World Champion.
