With nearly forty years experience in the manufacture and distribution of automotive lighting, Ring’s commitment to quality is second to none.


Through major investments in test equipment and fully qualified staff, Ring has created a Quality Assurance Department that is at the forefront of Automotive Lighting. Ring recognises quality is of utmost importance in helping to ensure customer satisfaction. With this in mind, Ring’s Quality Assurance Department carries out stringent quality control procedures on a continuous basis.


It has achieved the highest standards in Quality Assurance and has been independently assessed by BSI. The department has been awarded ISO9001 for the manufacture and assembly of automotive lighting. This is regularly and independently verified by BSI and the standard has now been achieved over a period of many years. This independent Quality Assessment is vital when it comes to Ring’s original equipment programme, where the world leading OEM’s continue to place business with Ring Automotive. The Quality Assurance Department monitors and assesses all the bulbs in the Ring Auto Bulb range. Using the sampling techniques laid down by BS6001, bulbs are checked to the relevant ECE and BS standards.


The Quality Assurance Department carries out a much bigger role than simply testing existing products. The department’s extensive facilities are used in the continuous process of product development, comparing the performance of existing products to those utilising the very latest technologies. It works closely with our manufacturing partners in developing those new technologies.


It is also able to monitor and assess the general quality of the market place issuing regular updates on other bulbs available. Working in close cooperation with our customers it can issue technical reports on request.


Advantages of LED


Increasingly, LED alternatives are becoming available as replacements for traditional lighting sources. LED worklamps replacing halogen, LED beacons replacing xenon and LED signalling replacing incandescent light units highlight some of the upgrades available.


But why upgrade to LED?


The benefits of upgrading to LED from these technologies are universal and relevant to all LED products. Ranging from safety improvements, improved light output and light up times, to long term financial benefits as a result of longer life, low current draw and reduced vehicle down time.


Long Life – LED products are designed to offer optimum life with low maintenance. With LED’s having up to 50,000 hours life they are designed into the units as a non replaceable light source making bulb changes a thing of the past.


Low Power – Reduced current draw enables the user to benefit from a longer light up time without running a vehicle engine to preserve battery life. Alternatively more lamps can be installed for an increased light output without exceeding previous power requirements from halogen lamps.


E.g. Typical power requirements; Halogen Worklamp (RCV9598) LED Worklamp (RCV9594) 55 Watts


12 Watts 24 Volts = 2.3 Amps 24 Volts = 0.5 Amps (1.8 Amp saving)


Multi voltage 12-24V – With LED products covering both 12 and 24v applications, only 1 part number is required.
