Jean-Philippe Nuel’s elegant design for the Hotel Indigo Paris-Opéra features innovative use of mirrors in the bar and the Tartares restaurant

HOTEL INDIGO PARIS-OPÉRA

The InterContinental Hotel Group made a splash when it opened this, its first Indigo-branded boutique hotel, in France last September. Situated in a Haussmann-era town house on a lovely pedestrianised street just off the bustling Grands Boulevards, the hotel is a quiet, stylish haven. In-demand interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel waved his wand over the decor, which reflects the hotel’s setting, just a stone’s throw from the Opéra Garnier. Elegant wall murals depict ballet dancers, and custom photography captures the neighbourhood’s famous sites. A nice touch is the use of mirrors in the downstairs bar and the

Tartares restaurant, which make these spaces seem much larger. There are 57 rooms and we highly recommend one of the duplex suites, which have a downstairs living area with

windows that beautifully frame the cityscape, with the Eiffel Tower glittering in the distance. Tel: +33 1 44 80 00 32 Email: paris.info@ihg.com www.ihg.com/hotelindigo

When Molitor closed in 1989, its crumbling pools became a canvas for street artists. After an €80 million investment, the Molitor has been reborn as an urban hotel, complete
