he Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce is


addressing the issue of labour attraction and retention andwe invite you to participate in two upcoming events thatwillwork to actively address and improve the situation.


First, on Thursday, January 22 we will


be hosting a workshop called Attracting, Retaining and Engaging Your Workforce. The seminar will feature four breakout sessions.


Facilitating Government, Education


and Industry Partnership to Promote Youth Career Development will be presented by Andrew Krul of the Lethbridge Regional School Board and Shane McKay of CAREERS The Next Generation. It will focus on methods to attract youth into trades as well as the RAP program.


Right People, Right Seats will be


presented by Ryan Miller of Select People Solutions and will help business owners learn to retain employees by hiring the right ones the first time. Ryan will teach attendees to predict long-term job performance, assess good organizational and job fit and avoid costly interviewing mistakes. Continued on page15
