and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Carmen Nazario as assistant secretary for the Administra- tion for Children and Families within HHS.

welcomed Duane Auman to its business development team. Auman received a bachelor’s degree in speech communica- tions from the University of North Caro- lina at Wilmington in 1988 followed by 15 years of work and traveling as a flight attendant. In 2003, he took a position in sales and eventually became half owner of an IT and communications firm, where he spent the last five years.
Blue Bird Corporation promoted Dean
Coulson to vice president of corporate planning and scheduling. Since joining the company in 2002, Coulson’s focus has been in the role as director of corporate planning and scheduling, and he recently assumed the additional responsibility of product warranty. He also leads the School Bus Driveway program. Jeff Sanfrey was promoted to vice president of corporate quality. Previously, Sanfrey held leadership positions as director of school bus assem- bly, chief engineer, current model engineer- ing and director of quality. He has been with Blue Bird since 2007. Neil Carter was named director of school bus assembly in the Fort Valley operations. Carter has been with Blue Bird since 1975 and has served
the company as plant manager of Blue Bird Mexico from 1997 until 2001, fabrication manager in Fort Valley from 2001 until 2003, and previously as production man- ager for Blue Bird’s North Georgia facility.
Te Minnesota School Bus Operators
Association’s newest board member is Lin- nea Weida, a 15-year employee at Hicks Bus Line, Inc. Weida’s goals for her term include using her beliefs and enthusiasm to promote bus safety. “I truly love being the first one in the trenches,” said Weida. “I pas- sionately call myself the ‘bus lady.’ I want to ensure that every student has the opportu- nity to have a safe, enjoyable ride to school. School bus riding time plays an important role in a child’s school social experience.”
