Goby, a member of that committee and a retired trans- portation supervisor for Detroit Public Schools, has put together an explanation of the group’s intentions as well as an explanation of what the committee is look- ing to do and what they need from other representatives of the industry. Te National Highway Traffic Safety Administration not only recently polished up its image with a pro-school bus
letter to Congress from Transportation Secre-
tary Ray LaHood (see page 28), it has revamped its Web site as well. Te new site, which still resides at
www.nhtsa.gov, boasts a more user-friendly interface. Te agency continues to offer information on all the major transportation programs and initiatives, includ- ing a “Key Issues” section that highlights topics such as distracted driving, seat belts, teen driving and fuel economy. School buses are also a featured topic, with its own Web page at
www.nhtsa.gov/School-Buses that includes information on the upcoming lap/shoul- der seat belt requirements as well as a number of related reports and studies.
