INDUSTRY CONNECTIONS Industry Everyday Solutions, Inc., received a $2.8 million investment from
a group that includes the executive chairman of Ford Motor Co., William Clay Ford, Jr. Last year, Ford, along with two other partners, founded Fontinalis Partners, a private equity firm in Michigan, to fo- cus on transportation technology. Everyday Solutions President and CEO Jay Wurts said that this latest round of financing will be used to expand the company’s penetration into the school bus market.
Los Angeles Unified School District recently purchased 130 Saf-
T-Liner HDX CNG school buses through Tomas Built Buses dealer BUSWEST, based in Carson, Calif. All vehicles will be equipped with lap-shoulder-belt-equipped SafeGuard seats to meet the California law. Te LAUSD transportation services division only accepts bids for buses operating on alternative fuels and recently purchased an- other 130 CNG buses from Blue Bird dealer A-Z Bus. Te district currently operates the largest CNG school bus fleet in the state.

Type A school bus is coming soon. Te move, which Blue Bird said is an extension of its commitment to affordable green solu- tions, comes after seeing an increased demand for Micro Bird’s
big brother, Blue Bird’s propane-powered Vision Type C school bus. Although the model will not begin production until late 2010, the company said it is currently taking orders.
IMMI opened a final assembly plant in High Point, N.C., for
its SafeGuard FlexSeat and SafeGuard Integrated Child Seat to offer just-in-time deliveries to the Tomas Built Buses C2 plant located two blocks away. IMMI will continue to manufacture school bus seat components and seat- ing modules at its Westfield, Ind., facility.
