abies love books and your local library has lots of them. North Yorkshire County Council’s Library and Information Centres welcome babies and children of all ages and even the smaller libraries have a special area for them to explore or sit and relax and share a story.
Joining the library is free and really easy and no baby is too young to have their very own library card. You can even join online.
Regular storytimes are held at many North Yorkshire Libraries, including Harrogate, Bilton, Starbeck and Knaresborough and are a great way to make new friends as well as discovering some wonderful books and having a sing song! Our ‘family matters’ collections are also at hand, with a wealth of information for families and carers on all kinds of subjects from tantrums (be it toddler or teen) to weaning, potty training and party games.
