Physiotherapy/Fundraising

Three Peak Challenge

At the end of August we said goodbye to Helen Parton. After 14 years as a physiotherapist at NMC Helen decided to retire. She will be missed by staff and patients alike, particularly her infectious laugh.

We have used some of those hours to increase Louise Clark, physio assistant to full-time.

We have also said goodbye to two wonderful volunteers Georgia Drummond and Ruth Jackson who are going on to do physio degrees. I am sure they will make excellent physios.

On the weekend of 2nd/3rd August Paul, Jonny, Louise and student physio Holly completed the 3 peak challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in awful weather conditions in 25 hours raising £2,500 to date. Amazingly they were all at work on the Monday at 9am!!

New recruit in Fundraising – Amy Swatkins

I joined the NMC Fundraising Team as a Community Development Fundraiser at the end of September (on a full-time basis), taking over from Kay Briggs.

I previously worked in the fundraising team at Francis House Children’s Hospice in Manchester on an 18 month internship after deciding to have a complete change of career!

I did a degree in Advertising and Marketing and then started the world of Digital Marketing. Over those 7 years, I had the privilege of working with many charity clients, helping them to increase their on-line donations, and after volunteering in the Marie Curie Cancer Care Regional Fundraising Office, I decided to take a leap

into the world of Fundraising and haven’t looked back.

I have enjoyed getting to know everyone at the Centre and I am really looking forward to getting stuck into everything Community Fundraising.
