by Maidstone and TunbridgeWells NHS Trust, who said it was “sur- plus to requirements”. The spokesman added: “Bellway

always has to plan for the unex- pected with any old buildings. The removal is an expensive process but

it has to be done to industry stan- dards and by an accredited firm. However, it will not cause a delay. “All affected areas will be com- pletely removed from each individ- ual building prior to its demolition, under fully-controlled conditions in a four-stage clearance process by an independent demolition and as- bestos specialist. The removal team will then continue to the next build- ing, until all of the buildings have been successfully taken down.” Bellway is creating two, three and four-bedroom houses, along with one and two-bedroom flats. The company says it expects the project to be complete by spring 2017.
