Portland Chamber Music Festival 2014 Summer Season Concerts
T
he Portland Chamber Music Festival’s summer concert series is PCMF’s signature event. The series features nationally ac- claimed performers in a wide range of repertoire including the music of living composers. Audience members note the warm and “unstuffy” atmosphere of festival concerts, and performers often address the audience directly with onstage commentary. PCMF’s summer concerts are held at the Abromson Center
at the University of Southern Maine’s Portland Campus -- an eas- ily accessible, modern, air-conditioned venue close to down- town Portland.

Pathfi nder: A Companion Guide for the Widow/er’s Journey
oanne Z. Moore, PT, DHSc., of East Lyme, CT, founded Pathfi nder to explore and share the successful practices of widow/ers—art- ists, politicians, teachers and historical fi gures—who have learned to live well after loss. In addition to compassionate and honest sharing of experiences among widows and widowers, Pathfi nder includes practical advice on managing fi nances, health, relation- ships, travel, and home and car maintenance. When Moore was widowed herself in 2009 after 37 years of marriage, she found few resources to help her negotiate the new path her life had taken. She said, “Being widowed is not a stage of life that most of us prepare for very well. When it happens, we need role models and friends to support us as we transition to a new way of living.”
Moore is the author of the soon-to-be released book, “Com- mon Sense: Strategies for Living a Joyful and Meaningful Life after Loss.” A noted speaker and workshop facilitator on end-of-life and survivor issues, she is the owner of Shoreline Physical Therapy, LLC, in East Lyme.
