Business Focus Turning the Lion of Kent into a roaring success

When landlords Robbie and Nikki Tallen took over the Lion of Kent last year they had a reputation to maintain – their own. The publicans of the award winning Kings Head in Staplehurst were determined to use their winning formula to turn the pub into a roaring success.

Landlord Robbie Tallen said – ‘The Kings Head at Staplehurst is a great pub at the heart of the local community, serving excellent food and offering a warm welcome. We are striving to duplicate this into the Lion of Kent’ – and it seems they are succeeding.

The Lion of Kent is managed by Richard Russell and along with his team they are working hard to ensure that the pub becomes a popular destination

with the local community. Serving great quality food and at realistic prices. There is an excellent value Sunday Carvery starting from £7.95 per person but be sure to book as it is already very popular with the locals. The pub serves a selection of popular pub classics from burgers and pastas to steaks and grills. The crowning glory is that many of the dishes on the menu are available on the ‘Two for £12 offer’ – certainly great value for great food! Plus there is a great selection of tempting desserts if you have room.

We have Dance Studios in town with branch Schools at Allington, Bearsted, Coxheath and Madginford all of which provide full dance training for all ages. Our goal has always been to teach people who dance for pleasure, but set standards that take the talented dancer to the professional level, a fact proven by the number of pupils who have made dance and the theatre their career.
