HistoriC sports rACers These once again


are purpose-built racing cars, but dated past the Vin- tage cut off. This class includes everything from home built cars of the period to manufactured racers like a Lotus 23 right-up to Can-Am cars. Class cut off: December 31, 1972.


group 70+ Group 70+ includes production based and


purpose-built race cars that were designed to race in successful series such as IMSA, Trans Am, SCCA and CASC GT classes among others. An exciting mix of style and speed, the Group 70+ grids feature everything from ground pounding Corvettes and Mustangs to sophisticated 2.0L Sports Racers and Porsche 911s. Currently in- cludes the 1973 to 1988 racing period.


Wings & sliCks Although not a Class itself, Wings and Slicks


cars come from different classes such as His- toric Open Wheel, Historic Sports Racer or the Group 70+ cars – the difference is that they run on slicks and often have aerodynamic devices to assist with grip - as such, they handle differ- ently to other cars and take corners on a differ- ent line. •


VARAC, the Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada, is the main Vintage Racing Club in Eastern Canada and have members from the Prairie Provinces, the US, Europe, Ontario and Quebec. All VARAC race cars were made in 1989 or ear- lier and are split into Pre-war, Vintage, Historic and Group 70+. These classes are then split up according to their age, based on what type of car they are (sedan, sports racer, open wheel car, sport car etc.).
