lessly to put on a wonderful event for 2014 that really has something for everyone. Be- sides three full days of racing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, there are other events planned for fans and enthusiasts such as the “Canadian Historic Grand Prix Tribute” in downtown Bowmanville on Friday from noon to 9pm. The Tribute features car shows, live bands and tons of fun. Saturday brings the “ESSO Tower Rally,” leaving from the track at 10am with a lunch stop before returning to CTMP. There is lots to do Sunday as VARAC hosts the ever popular “Field of Dreams” Car Show as well as the “Legends of Mosport - Great Canadian Racers Reunion” Press and Fans gathering MC’d by Norris Macdonald along with Gary Magwood. tells us that none of this would be possible without the support of some great volunteers
ur Canadian Historic Grand Prix director is Bob DeShane, who has worked tire-
and sponsors such as The Toronto Star with its Wonder List ticket give away. Trophies are by sponsor CPS Flooring, racer and worker re- wards courtesy of Hoyes Michalos and promo- tion and event programs by Inside Track Motorsport News. We’d like to thank Classic Motorsports Magazine for sponsoring the Field of Dreams Car Show and Dream Laps. We’d also like to thank Black Prince Winery, John Sambrook and Geoff Webb for their generous contributions. Then, of course, there’s the three days of
great vintage racing action, which wouldn’t be possible without all the great staff at CTMP, the volunteers provided through CASC, Mo- sport Marshalling Services, the Canadian Tim- ing Association, Bobs Towing, and of course our VARAC family members who all make it possible for the racers to be out there. Please, take the time over the weekend to
acknowledge the efforts of our volunteers; the viability of our sport depends greatly on their efforts. •
