letterfromthepublisher Welcome to your May issue!

I

’m excited about the amazing information we’ve packed into this issue. I don’t have the space here to highlight everything, but I do want to note a couple of items:

n The Healthy Living, Healthy Planet Expo is coming May 17 to Rackspace! Please plan to stop by the Rackspace headquarters in Windcrest off IH-35 between noon and 4 p.m. (see the display ad on page 3 and news brief on page 9).

Offering these community events is an important part of the Natural Awakenings’

mission to build and support a health-focused, planet-friendly community. We’re blessed to partner with Rackspace, Elevate Life and Juicer Heroes to make the event happen, and we’re assembling 50+ exhibitors to provide you an amazing expo experience. Each month you’ll find tremendous, life-enhancing information within these pages.

It’s a great way to learn and connect, but an even better way is to connect face to face. That 1:1 human connection is important. Hosting events like the May 17 Expo is a way to help make those life-enhancing human connections happen.

n Participate in San Antonio’s Million Pound Challenge. FitCitySA.com, the Mayor’s Fitness Council, and the YMCA of Greater San Antonio need your help! The goal is for local residents to record at least 1 million pounds lost by year’s end – that’s 500 tons! Truth is, most of us would feel better a few pounds lighter. In the process, we’ll get

more exercise, eat better and create some healthier habits. So take the challenge – go to FitCitySA.com, create a profile and start tracking the number of pounds you lose. You’ll find lots of tips and support on the site. We’ll be reminding you each month with a Million Pound Challenge display ad.

(see ad, news brief on page 8). We’re proud to do everything we can to support a healthier you and a healthier community. Together, we can meet this challenge!

MAY you enjoy the few remaining spring days. Remember to breathe deeply, love unconditionally, express gratitude, model kindness and share this issue with those you love.
