sowing red Flanders poppy seed in and around the village. Sites already earmarked include Brooks field, around the Jubilee Oak in the graveyard, amongst the lavender at the foot of the fingerpost in the heart of the village and along sections of Old Loose Hill.


If you would like to join in, seeds are now available from B&Q. Full cultivation instructions are included and £1 from all packets sold w ill be donated to the work of the Legion.

Firs t World War Poppy Campaign


 wet weather has meant that our usu al work in the valley has had to be postponed,       party. But better weather is on the way now, and we w ill be continuing the programme of tree and shrub planting, with the help of children from Loose Junior School.

Scheduled to be planted soon are whitebeam, wild service tree, holly and small leaved lime. Later in the spring we w ill also be fefencing some of the woodland bank to stop the sheep eating the bluebells and othe r wild flowers which are gradually returning, but gates and stiles will be put in too so that human and canine visitors can enjoy the area as usual!
